Case Study: Hauskollektiv

Hauskollektiv is a new independent kitchen specialist based in Darlington. Established by Scott Marks, the previous Creative Director for Haus of Design, it creates mid to high-end kitchens nationally, aiming to create beautiful kitchens from some of the finest manufacturers in Europe.

As a long-time user of Winner, Scott is now using it to establish and grow his new business as it provides everything in one place and, crucially for a high-end business, provides stunning renders that have a ‘wow’ factor.
Why did you choose Winner?
Winner is the only CAD software package I’ve used in my time and it’s invaluable to us and we couldn’t operate our business without it. The renders are really good. They’re really realistic and the software is user-friendly with the simple interface, the drag and drop tools and the support that is always easily accessible.

Who uses Winner and how has this improved their daily work?
There’s just myself and one other designer who use Winner and it makes our job easier as it automatically adds in the prices so that helps us keep a tight grasp of the customer’s budget, and I think that’s where Winner shines over anything else. It’s ultimately a selling tool.The catalogue is really comprehensive and even if they’re not, it’s easy to get them added.
For example, when I was at Haus of Design we took on a German kitchen brand called BAX (see kitchen render above), and their catalogue wasn’t on Winner but we explained to Compusoft how useful it would be for us if the catalogue was available and within a few months it was added. If you explain to your partner brands that being part of Winner makes their product easier to sell then they’re usually happy to be part of it.
What effect has this had on your business?
We also sell an interior design service almost entirely off the back of Winner as our customers love the 3D renders we can produce, and the software is flexible enough for you to be creative with it. I could design a whole house with it and do architectural design even though it might not be meant for this purpose. It’s got that flexibility and capability.
Why would you recommend Winner?
Winner is great because you have everything there all in one place. It forms the basis of the project contract – you’ve got the quotation, the 3D render and the plans which are really easy for installers and builders to follow. Winner just gives us a bit of a level up. I have tried other online CAD tools like Sketch Up but it doesn’t come close to this.
