Lydney Bathrooms

Founded in 2001 by Richard Liddington, Lydney Bathrooms & Kitchens is an independent family business based in the Forest Of Dean, in Gloucestershire. It supplies bathrooms, boilers and kitchens to trade and consumers from brands including Tavistock, Laufen, Nolte, Mereway, Perrin & Rowe, Duravit and Crosswater.

We spoke to sales designer Jordan Liddington about why they use Innoplus

How did you used to create designs before Innoplus?

We used to use Virtual Worlds, which is good but it was time consuming to create designs – taking nearly two hours – because you had to be really specific. We wanted to be able to use something that was quicker and easier. We were already using Winner Design for our kitchens and so we decided to see what Innoplus could offer.

Why did you decide to change?

When we saw Innoplus it was the ease and speed that persuaded us to switch, as it means we can create great bathroom designs even faster.
All of the brands we use were already on Innoplus and if we want to add a brand, that’s a really simple process. We did so with Eastbrook recently. It’s really easy to use and the support is great. That said, I’ve only needed to call them twice because it’s so straightforward. We’re all self taught on the software too. Although there’s plenty of training available we’ve not needed to utilise that.

 

What do you like about Innoplus?

To create a design with Innoplus takes only around 30 minutes and we really like the fact that we can save all our most commonly used items as presets so the room can be automatically populated with these things when you start. We also really like the tile feature that Innoplus has. You can add your own tiles/tile trims – this is really flexible as you can input any tiles you want.

Impact on the company

Who uses Innoplus and how has this improved their daily work?

Three of us here use Innoplus and now we each have a licence. Having one each means that things run a lot more smoothly and we can get straight onto jobs we need to design, and the software is flexible and easy to use, meaning that we can get great designs finished quickly.

What effect has this had on your business?

I would say that ever since taking on Innoplus, we’re twice as busy as we were before as we can get designs to customers more quickly and respond to design changes faster. Our customers love to see a realistic CAD design and are more likely to buy from us when they can see how everything looks together. And of course, they can see all of those products in the design, in the showroom too.

What benefits has this had for your customers?

We’re planning in our kitchen showroom to have a design area which features a big screen with Innoplus and Winner where we can put designs together with customers. Currently we’re tending to email customers with ideas and they might come back to us with changes. Designing in this new way, with the customer there with us, will help them feel more involved, and also speed up the process of arriving at a completed design that the customer is really happy with.
